FAQ — Application, Pay & Training | Reclaiming Works & Path Houston

Question 1

Who can apply?

Accepted Answer

Anyone 18 or older who is ready to work. We are a second-chance employer — criminal history is reviewed on a case-by-case basis and is not an automatic disqualifier. We believe in giving people a real shot.

Question 2

How do I apply?

Accepted Answer

Create a free account on our site, then complete the online application on your portal. It takes about 10 minutes. You'll need a valid ID and basic contact information. No resume required.

Question 3

Will my background check disqualify me?

Accepted Answer

Not automatically. We review each applicant individually. We look at the nature of the offense, how long ago it occurred, and your readiness to work. Many of our crew members have records — that's part of our mission.

Question 4

How long does the application process take?

Accepted Answer

Most applicants hear back within 3–5 business days of submitting a complete application. If we need more information, we'll reach out by phone or email.

Question 5

Is there an age requirement?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you must be at least 18 years old to apply. There is no upper age limit.

Question 6

What is the starting pay?

Accepted Answer

Starting pay is $10 per hour from your very first day on the job. No waiting period, no unpaid training period — you get paid from day one.

Question 7

How and when do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

Pay is processed weekly. You can view your hours, pay history, and download paystubs directly from your worker portal once you're hired.

Question 8

Can my pay increase over time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As you complete training milestones, earn certifications, and demonstrate reliability, your pay rate is reviewed. Our goal is to move crew members into higher-skilled, higher-paying roles.

Question 9

Is overtime available?

Accepted Answer

Overtime depends on project demand and crew availability. When overtime is available, it is paid at the standard overtime rate in accordance with Texas labor law.

Question 10

Do I need prior experience or certifications?

Accepted Answer

No prior experience is required. We provide all the training you need. OSHA-30 certification is included as part of your development — we cover the cost.

Question 11

What is OSHA-30 and why does it matter?

Accepted Answer

OSHA-30 is a nationally recognized 30-hour safety certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. It qualifies you for higher-paying construction and trades jobs across the country — it's a credential that follows you for life.

Question 12

How long is the training program?

Accepted Answer

Our workforce development path is a 12-week program. You work and earn pay from day one while completing training milestones alongside your crew duties.

Question 13

Who provides the training?

Accepted Answer

We partner with established Houston-area workforce development organizations and trades training programs. Training is hands-on and designed to translate directly into real job skills.

Question 14

What happens after I complete the 12-week program?

Accepted Answer

Graduates are eligible for advancement within Reclaiming Works & Path, referrals to partner employers in the trades, and a portfolio of certifications including OSHA-30. We actively help connect completers with long-term career opportunities.

Question 15

What kind of work will I be doing?

Accepted Answer

Crew members work on property cleanup, debris removal, basic repairs and maintenance, lawn care, and disaster cleanup and stabilization across the Greater Houston area. Work is physical and outdoors.

Question 16

What are the hours and schedule?

Accepted Answer

Schedules vary by project. Most work is Monday through Friday during daylight hours. Disaster response projects may require weekend or extended hours — those are voluntary and compensated accordingly.

Question 17

Do I need my own transportation?

Accepted Answer

Reliable transportation to job sites is preferred. If transportation is a barrier, contact us — we may be able to work with you depending on your location and the project site.

Accepted Answer

No. All tools, equipment, and safety gear are provided by Reclaiming Works & Path. You just need to show up ready to work.
